"BY THE TIDE" GIFT ENSEMBLE

For the past few years, I have enjoyed designing monthly project tutorials for Craft Project Central, and my project is featured today.  Following is the introduction that I wrote about it:

It’s time to welcome summer, and you’re going to need the right packaging for treats and gifts.  With this tutorial, you will make a trio of boxes, learn a quick and easy way to decorate push pop containers that won’t interfere with whatever you choose to fill them, and create a beautiful open-top box with the capacity to hold a lot of treats.  It’s so decorative that you (or whomever you give it to) will want to keep it on display.

On Monday, June 22nd, I will give to a lucky winner a FREE one-month subscription to Craft Project Central.  To be entered into the drawing for the subscription, all you need to do is go HERE and leave a comment on the post where my project is featured.  Be sure to visit my blog on the 22nd to see if yours was the winning name.  It's that simple!

"MAKE-IT-SNAPPY-MONDAY"

I created another scrapling for today's MISM project . . . a 2" x 5-1/2" note card.  Actually, my card is a salvaged piece . . . it's the left side of a Calypso Coral gatefold card that didn't get off to a pleasing start.  The stamped piece was also salvaged from a scrap of cardstock that ended up with notes written all around the stamped image, which is from Stampin' Up!'s brand new Wild about Flowers stamp set.  Isn't the image gorgeous?  It's a 2-step stamped image, and I can already tell that this will be a go-to stamp set for me.  Just when I say that I do not need another flower set (and, really, I don't), along comes one like Wild about Flowers that's so easy to use that it's a must-have.  When I stamped the two images on the scrap cardstock, I wanted to make sure that I could line them up properly.  The image that you see represents the very first time that I stamped those images.  Stampin' Up! products featured on this card include:
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Old Olive
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Old Olive
Stamp Sets:  Wild about Flowers, Awesomely Artistic
Accessories:  Fringe Scissors, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dot
Join me in wishing my sweet mother
a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY today!!!
Have a great week!

PATRIOTIC MASCULINE GIFT SET

Make this patriotic and masculine gift set, which includes a thank you card, picture frame, and a mini scrap album. It is the perfect gift for a soldier, a vet, or perhaps someone who has a loved one in the military. Honor them with a handmade gift for risking their lives for our freedom. Learn different techniques such as stenciling, heat embossing, and how to add a distressed look to your project. Make handmade 3-D stars and add dimension with sponging and die-cutting. Great for a stamp camp or as a class project.

"MAKE-IT-SNAPPY-MONDAY"

Today's MISM project is a sweet and simple card.  It features a cookie sheet with fresh-baked, hot-from-the-oven Chocolate Chip cookies, situated inside a die-cut Polaroid frame.  I guess my head just hasn't been in the game lately because it appears that the On Film dies (from Stampin' Up!) retired recently because I don't see that set in the new catalog.  Oops!
Other Stampin' Up! products featured on this card include:
Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo, Naturals White (retired), Brushed Silver (retired), Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets:  Hello Life, Hi There (retired)
Ink:  Encore Silver Metallic, VersaMark, Soft Suede
Punches:  1/2" Circle, Corner Rounder
Sizzix:  On Film
When I sat down to create this card, I had no idea what I would make.  And then I noticed that my little stack of cookie sheets, complete with the cute little cookies (all sponged and dotted with chocolate chips) had fallen onto my desk from the shelf where they'd been "cooling" since last November.  It was time to put one of them to good use!  The Island Indigo cardstock was left over from another project, so I put it to work on my card.  The embossed hello was also lying on my desk waiting for a purpose.  Last week, I received Wow! Metallic Silver Ultra High embossing powder and had stamped and embossed a few sentiments to see just how high "ultra high" would be.  I have to admit that it's quite impressive.
Have a happy Monday and a fabulous week!!!!

"MAKE-IT-SNAPPY-MONDAY"

Today's MISM project features a neat and trendy gift wrap.  When the time came to wrap THIS mixed media canvas, I searched and searched but couldn't find a box for it.  I even considered making a box, but my poor little brain just didn't have the energy for that.  And so I chose to wrap it in white tissue paper, figuring that I would finish it in some pretty fashion.  Twine (which I seriously l♥ve and use all the time) and a gorgeous lace trim served as the pretty anchor for the tag that hangs from an oversized antique gold safety pin adorned with a crown.  I can't tell you how thrilled I was to discover this perfect embellishment lying in my stash just waiting for the chance to shine.  As I mentioned when I posted photos of the canvas, it was a gift for a college grad who will be moving to NYC so it was only fitting that I used a skyline when I designed the tag.  Stampin' Up!'s Ornate Tag Topper Punch was used to shape the tag, and the quote reads, "Go into the world and do well but, more importantly, go into the world and do good."  I love that quote and think that it's quite fitting, don't you?
