FOLDED SCREEN CARDS

It all started when I saw Adriana's card featuring Stampin' Up!'s Daydream Medallions stamp set, so I decided to make my life easier by using the same colors (black, Bermuda Bay, and I used Basic Gray rather than Smoky Slate) and images for my first Folded Screen card.  The only thing I did different was add a couple of butterflies and the sentiment that I needed for the person who would receive this card.  This is such an easy card to make, and I love it.  The only drawback is that it's quite bulky and requires extra postage.
For my second card (yes, I needed two of these), I used Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, and Hello Honey card stock and images from one of my favorite (retired) stamp sets, French Foliage.    The sentiment was printed onto Very Vanilla card stock, and cut with the Modern Label punch.  To keep the front panels worthy of display, a sentiment panel was adhered to the back of each card.  The Folded Screen card is sooooooooooooooo easy to make, and I'll bet you'll want to make more than one.  The card stock size is 5.5" x 11", scored at increments of 2.75".  The measurement for the stamped panels is 2.5" x 4.25" (don't forget to cut a fifth one to use as a sentiment panel for the back of the card), and they are adhered to a mat that measures 2-5/8" x 4-3/8".  After putting the two cards in the mail, it occurred to me that I could have made them shorter so they could be folded once (in half) and fit in an envelope and mailed with one postage stamp.  You can view the USPS size requirements for letters HERE.  I was thinking that while most of my cards fit in an A2 envelope, most retail greeting cards are closer to 5" x 7" in size, which lends quite a generous option for mailing if you get the card size right.  ;-)
